The ex War Department Hunslet built Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 75006 is to have a cosmetic repaint and makeover as long lost ex LNER J94 Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 68070, which was sheded at Boston in Lincolnshire in BR days as part of a photo charter event at the Nene Valley Railway on the 30th of October 2023.

After a good season touring other preserved railways this year, the ex British Leyland and former Steel Company of Wales Bagnall built 0-6-0ST No. 401 (Works No. 2994) "Vulcan" has returned to the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway where it is on long term loan to them, where it has been a fantastic showcase for both them and its owners the North Tyneside Railway.

Rollable and completely preserved museum locomotive in good condition (operable until 2013) In 2021, the locomotive was transported to the DLW in Meiningen and received a refurbishment there. The locomotive has been back in Wernigerode since May 17, 2022 and, following an on-site investigation that is still pending, is scheduled to be used again on the HSB network in 2024.

During a general inspection, the locomotive was fundamentally overhauled. During the examination in Meiningen, the locomotive received a new frame and two newly built steam cylinders. Ready for operation again in 2023

In November 2013, the locomotive was parked in the locomotive shed in Wernigerode Westerntor after the operating period had expired. Recommissioning is planned for 2024. 51.834586° 10.780061°

On January 8, 2019, the locomotive got stuck in a snowdrift shortly before Brocken train station and stopped. The recovery of the locomotive took three days. The involuntary stay in the snow did not cause any frost damage, and the locomotive has been nicknamed “Ice Queen” since the incident.

On January 1st, 2022, the locomotive suffered serious chassis damage after a drive rod broke while driving up the Brocken. The locomotive was transported to Meiningen on January 17, 2022 to be examined and repaired there. On March 7, 2023, the locomotive from Meiningen returned to Wernigerode in operational condition after repairs and inspection.

A planned transfer to Reckahn (Brandenburg) as a monument on company premises failed. In July 2011 the locomotive was parked in Bad Belzig until it was scrapped there in October of the same year because no one was interested in the locomotive.

Was a spare parts donor for the refurbishment of the DB museum locomotive 50 622. Then dismantled in the Offenburg repair shop and parts taken as technical exhibits for various museums. The rest was scrapped. The demonstration drive shown in the picture is located on the grounds of the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) and can be seen in Google Maps (Blue Dots). In September 1996 the locomotive suffered severe boiler damage and was parked in the Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg Museum. A short time later, the rolling locomotive became the property of the DDM. In 1998 the locomotive boiler service life expired without any further use. Recommissioning not planned.
