In a surprise discovery in its history, its been discovered that ex Great Western Railway 1400 Class 0-4-2T No. 1450 was one of two GWR 1400 Class locomotives that was used in the filming of the 1953 Ealing comedy "The Titfield Thunderbolt", as No. 1450 along with the main star No. 1401, were part of the filming with No. 1450 carrying 1401’s number for filming shots along the now closed Bristol and North Somerset Railway line then. No. 1401 which was the main staring locomotive in the film was sadly scrapped in the early 1960s, but No. 1450 is still with us today and soon to return to steam again when her current overhaul at the Flour Mill Works is completed.
