The ex LMS Jinty 3F 0-6-0T No. 16440, is visiting the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway for the first time as their second visiting locomotive for their Spring Steam Gala from the 20th to 23rd of March 2025, which will have a strong LMS theme to it this year.

2464 could refer to a Thai year. The loco never carried such a number until recently.

This locomotive was abandoned for many years, and during that time, parts went missing. When it was recovered and put on display, it was given a coat of paint. She is on display as she was when she was abandoned.

The boiler of ex Southern Railway rebuilt Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Pacific No. 34058 "Sir Frederick Pile", has been sent to Tyseley Locomotive Works for it to have much needed work on it to be carried out for it to steam again while work on the locomotive continues at Sellindge.

With its hired visit to the Cambrian Heritage Railway at Oswestry in Shropshire now finnished, the ex Austin Motor Co. Ltd Kitson & Co built 0-6-0ST Works No. 5459 "Austin No. 1", has returned home to the Llangollen & Corwen Railway for the winter and will be out next at their upcoming Branchline Gala from the 11th to 13th of April 2025, and then afterwords will going out on hire to another preserved railway during the summer months.

This was supplied new tp the Mekong Railway (SRT) as their No. 12. Upon retirement it went on display in Jomtien Beach Resort, Pattaya as MRC 12 until at least 1992. Later displayed in Phuseangthong Resort & Spa, Ban Rai, Uthai Thani, Thailand in the same identity and where it was in 2010.

EFE 211 is Rogers #4955/1893 and was in Quinta Normal museum recently, but it is a 4-6-0 tender engine. EFE 221 is Dubs #2746/1891 and is an 0-6-0T, one of 7 built for FC Parcocha in Spain. They went bust after 4 were delivered (3 now preserved) and the remaining 3 were sold to EFE as 219-221 (2 survive). Check out www.railwaysofthefarsouth.co.uk Chile locos section 1.2.1.

The world famous Fowler/Stanier rebuilt LMS Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46100 "Royal Scot", got to haul one last train out on the mainline today before withdrawl from service. A Locomotive Services Ltd. Staff Charter Special from Crewe via the North Wales Coast route to Holyhead and back. After working this final mainline charter train, No. 46100 has now been officially withdrawn from service and will be prepaid to be moved to the One:One Collection (Locomotive Storage Ltd.) at Margate in Kent, in the former Hornby Model Railway factory warehouse for undercover storage and display while it awaits its next overhaul.

Now under the custodianship of Northern Steam Operations Limited for the National Railway Museum, the worlds most famous steam locomotive ex LNER A3 Class Pacific No. 60103 (No. 4472) "Flying Scotsman", will be visiting the Nene Valley Railway from the 22nd of February to the 9th of March 2025, as part of the Railway 200 celebrations. During her visit "Flying Scotsman" will be operating passenger services from 22nd February to 9th March, where the locomotive will be in public service for six running days and they are also planning some special static days to get up close and personal to "Flying Scotsman" with cab visits. The locomotive will also be used on the Nene Valley Railway’s popular Jolly Fisherman Fish and Chips trains as well and will also take part in a photo charter, where "Flying Scotsman" will be hauling a freight train, which this is believed to be the first time the locomotive has hauled freight since a previous charter at the Nene Valley back in 1994, so this is not to be missed!

The ex GWR Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5521 / London Transport No. L150, will be visiting the Gwili Railway for their upcoming 6 for 60 Gala weekend on the 15th and 16th of March 2025, marking 60 years since the closure of the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line as well as marking their part for Railway 200, the 200th anniversary of the modern railway system’s birth.

The ex LNER D49 Class 4-4-0 No. 246 "Morayshire", has now left Locomotive Maintenance Services and has returned home to the Scottish Railway Preservation Society’s base at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway at Bo’ness in West Lothian, Scotland, for the last stages of its overhaul.
