This is Dubs 4273 of 1902; Built as one of 101 C class 4-10-2Ts for the NGR (Natal Govt Rly); Modified a few years later to 4-8-2T by removing the rear trailing axle and blanking off the slot in the frame to stiffen it;

201 was taken out of service in 2013 after it appeared to have some major firebox and boiler issues. As of 2019 she remains partially disassembled at the Rusk shops.

Originally built to gauge 900mm for Rollmaterial AG, Zürich, later Kraftwerksbau Wägital then Kiesgrube Kilbag who had it reduced to 750mm gauge. After work it was placed in a playground in Schrottplatz, Schlieren, Dietikon, Zürich, Switzerland with no known identity in 1971 and where it was in 2012.

Previously at Mirror manufacturer St. Gobain, Stolberg and subsequently Vegla Glassworks as ST GOBAIN II until 1972., then being displayed in the locality, here in 2008.

I have this as Hannomag 6813/1913 that was originally No. 802 and was still here in 2008 ?

This is prpbably the sole survivor of the local ironworks where it was employed until its eventual local dsplay.

Originally KPEV Müster Division No. 4981 before, in 1916, going to the TCCD as No. 44079. It returned to Germany from Turkey in 1987 and to the DME, in Darmstadt where it is known as Mainz 4981. It had Henscel boiler No. 11433/1912 fitted in Piila, Poland in 1993 and was still in Darmstadt in 2005.

Pprviously Iron Works Alfredhütte, Wissen No. 1 that only went to Dynamidon after 1950 and as been at the playground in Heerdt since 1972, and where it was in 2002 ?

Previously Torfmoor AG, Triangel as TRIANGEL, the company later becoming Triangeler Dämmstoffwerke. It was by the VBV, Braunschweig as TRIANGEL 1 in 1969 and where it was in 2004.

This was originally destined for Turkey but during WW1 became No. HF 636 and afterwards worked T Liezen Steelworks where it was first named BARBARA. It later went to Felten & Kapfenberg before going to the EM at Hinterbahngasse 2b, 2320 Schwechat, Lower Austria

After werk at chemical factories in both Sehnde and Heilbronn, it was displayed in a playground in Heilbronn-Neckargartach until 1974 then, in 1992, preserved privately at Museumbahn Mellrichstadt-Fladungen as No. 7 until 1997 and, in 1998 moved to Finsterwalde as No. 1. From 2001 until 2011 it was at SEH, Heilbronn and is now believed to have been exported to the Jesada TM, Nakhon, Chaisri, Thailand ? where it was in 2012.

I have this as Hannomag 5920/1912 that was previously Aachen Red Earth Association, then ARBED, Luxenbourg prior to being displayed in Rue de Luxembourg, Esch sur Alzette, where in was in 1998 and 2000 with no identity. ? I dont have Hanomag 5921/1911 as being extant!

Further information suggests that the Class 35 locomotive formerly at Kaspican was No. 35.01, previously No. 2001. As well as in 1911, there was an additional renumbering BDZ locomotives prior to WW2; small wonder of the later confusion! However, only No. 35.05 of this class now remains.

Further perusal shows this on a Hanomag list as 5600/1909 that became KED Elberfeld Division No. 4903 then, in 1925 DRG No. 55 1893. It joined the BDZ in 1945 as No. 27.08, whether or not it is the same locomotive it was here in 1995 though some locomotives have been more recently moved from its location at the National Transport Museum, rather than depot in Ruse. It may previously have born the number 710 ?

The ex United States Army Transportaion Corps and Southern Railway USA Class 0-6-0T Dock shunter No. 30064 has now left the Bluebell Railway and is now being relocated to West Coast Railway Company’s Depot at Carnforth in Lancashire, where it will be overhauled which is expected to take five to six years.

At AG Weser, Bremen Haven in 1912, believed to be the second operator/ owner of the locomotive. In 1933 it was in the hands of P Klempt, Bremen until it finished work in 1971 and was placed in the park the following year in Verden but stored in 1995. It was purchased privately in 2000 by a B Framke of Burgwedel, Niedersachsen, being re-constructed in 2004, it was still here in late 2009. No known running number or name.

The ex United States Army Transportaion Corps and Southern Railway USA Class 0-6-0T Dock shunter No. 30072 has since relocated to the East Lancashire Railway at Bury in Lancashire by its owner Andy Booth, where its overhaul is being continued in the sheds at Bury.
