Whilst there is obviously some controversy over the origins of the plates and history of this locomotive; i.e. what is believed to be O&K 7697/1920 survived during 2011 in Alt Schwerin, Germany, of course who knows over the course of a century ? It may be that this locomotive has been fitted with a previous boiler from No. 7697 ? Albeit, no doubt the SM has done its homework as to the build origins, hence the fitting of current plates. If so, this previously been Wuytack de Grand, Brussels going, in 1944, to the SBB Belge de Bretons Society and later to Maldegem, East Flanders, Belgium with no identity.
