BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80098 is to join 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" out on the mainline as its to be overhauled to mainline standards again by its owners the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust which will take five years. No. 80098 was a mainline runner in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The former South Durham Steel & Iron Co. Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST No. 9 has been bought by a new owner and has moved to the Northampton & Lamport Railway for restoration.

The ex Yates Duxbury Paper Mill Peckett built 0-4-0ST No. 1159 "Annie" is to enter service this year following completion of its overhaul and will be going on hire to the Northampton & Lamport Railway for the 2019 season there.

Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-4-0ST No. 7386 "Birkenhead" is located at the Elsecar Heritage Railway in Yorkshire. Where the locomotive is currently laid up awaiting repairs but is now likely to be put up for sale following the news its owners the GWR Preservation Group is to be disbanded and sell off all its rolling stock.

No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" is set to make a comeback on the mainline this year as it is one of three locomotives that have been booked to work this years Torbay Express runs this summer from Bristol to Kingswear and trips round Bath Spa, Trowbridge, Westbury and Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads, Yatton and Weston-Super-Mare.

LNER B1 4-6-0 No. 1264 is to visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for the very first time as one of the star visiting locomotive at their Cotswold Festival of Steam which is to have a Northern theme to it this year on the weekend of the 25th to 27th of May 2019.

Now fully tested, painted and completed No. 80097 is all set to enter service at the East Lancashire Railway during their Spring Steam Gala on the weekend of the 8th to 10th of March 2019.

It has been announced that 1264 will be visiting the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for their Cotswold Festival of Steam on the weekend of May 25th-27th 2019.

I was a young volunteer with the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway in 1985. Just after the end of the miners strike the NCB offered Menelaus to the railway and a group of us managed to get it onto a low loader in the pit yard and it was transported over to Blaenavon. I have a photograph of it on the loader in the yard which was published in the South Wales Argus at the time. It’s good to know it’s still around and hopefully being restored to operational condition.

Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T No. 419 tour around the UK keeps on going as its just been announced that the locomotive is to visit the North Norfolk Railway to be the star at their Spring Steam Gala on the 5th to 7th of April 2019.

Ex DB locomove No. 64 305 was, I believe, actually built by Krupp, Essen as their No. 1308 in 1934. The build number also corresponds to a later locomotive (No. 64 317 1320/1934) also preserved in Frankfurt (Oder).

This loco is now at Weisswasser, located at Waldeisenbahn Muskau and on display. Origin is Firma Halbach AG, Kunnersdorf bei Kamenz, loco named "Hilax" and a 0-4-0WT.

This loco came from BKW Bautzen and was never a DR loco. The DR never had a 99-203, so this is a false number.

Former Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" has been sold by its owner to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway in Monmouthshire, South Wales where it now based. Its days as Thomas The Tank Engine are over as its been converted back to its original saddle tank form before moving to its new home.

Following the news that the Beeches Light Railway is to close from May this year the ex Darjeeling-Himalayan Railway Sharp Stewart built 0-4-0ST+T No. 19 is to go visit the Launceston Steam Railway in Cornwall for the summer season this year till its new private light railway home at its new site is ready.

The loco was never Gr.Army, but delivered in 1912 directly to the Graeflich von Arnimsche Kleinbahn, known as Waldeisenbahn Muskau (Mzskau Forest Railway).

Loco is Krauss 0-4-0 7790/1924, type XXVII dc. Delivered via E.Brangsch to M.Heine, Dessau. Later quarry of Carl Halbach Schotterwerk Bernbruch, 1976 purchased by Manfred Werner of Werners Gartenbahn "WGB 001", Löbau. Status: operational

Former Eaton Hall Railway 1896 built 15inch gauge 0-4-0T "Katie" is the second loco visiting Beamish North of England Open Air Museum for their Great North Steam Fair on the 11th to 14th of April 2019 as well.

The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway based 0-6-2 "River Irt" is one of two visiting 15inch gauge locomotives visiting Beamish North of England Open Air Museum for the very first time for their Great North Steam Fair on the 11th to 14th of April 2019. As Beamish has laid a short 15inch gauge demonstration line at their Colliery railway and will be giving rides along it for the very first time.

The ex Stewarts & Lloyds Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0T "Gertrude" is leaving the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway for a new life in Bedfordshire as the locomotive is relocating to be based at the Leighton Buzzard Railway where it will join her sister "Doll" as part of their running fleet.

Aveling Porter built 2-2-0GWT Railway Traction Engine No. 9449 "The Blue Circle" will be visiting the Long Shop Museum at Leiston in Suffolk to be the first locomotive to operate on the reopen restored section of the Leiston Works Railway there and marking 160 years of railways at Leiston on the 1sth and 2nd of June 2019.

No. 7029 is back on the mainline again for the first time since 1988 after a very successful loaded mainline test run today. The locomotive is now set to be the flagship of Vintage Trains Mainline steam operations.
