The pioneer Beyer-Garratt, 0-4-0+0-4-0 K1 has now arrived at the Statfold Barn Railway at Tamworth in Staffordshire. Where it will undergo a cosmetic overhaul for display their for four years.

The ex Preston Docks Bagnall built 0-6-0ST No. 14 "Princess" is back in service at the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway following a ten year overhaul that was completed in October 2019. Just in time to work their Santa Specials over the Christmas season.

LMS Jinty 0-6-0T No. 47406 has been put back into service again having been given a six month extension to its boiler ticket. No. 47406 will remain in service at the Great Central Railway till May 2020.

As announced by the Great Western Society plans to take No. 6023 "King Edward II" to the mainline will no longer go ahead now for the foreseeable future as instead No. 6023 will be made more available for visits to other preserved railways around the UK. This winter No. 6023 will have its original cab, chimney and safety valve cover refitted to make the locomotive more to its authentic condition.

I actually have to make a change to my previous note mentioned earlier. According to a book I picked up at a Museum on a recent vacation, this engine was removed from the pedestal as a person who runs a steam excursion program traded another engine for it, with the plans of returning it to steam.

No. 5526 is set to visit the East Anglian Railway Museum at Chappel & Wakes Colne in Essex for the first time for their Spring Steam Gala being held on the 14th and 15th March 2020. There is also an opportunity for members of the public to drive No. 5526 on the 13th & 18th March, for the bargain price of £150. Which details will be on the Museum’s website.

It was working normally in December 2019, shunting coal wagons onto the coal tipper which lifts each wagon almost vertically in order to discharge the coal from one end of the wagon down into an underground shoot. The loco shunts the wagons into formation ready for collection by an SZ diesel loco. It received a full overhaul in Sept 2017 in the workshops of the Slovenian Railway Museum. There are no plans to replace it. Steam is filled into the loco from a point just inside the private sidings.

A big milestone has been reached as the 1960 built boiler from "Willington Hall" that will be used on No. 6880 "Betton Grange" has pasted its official steam test. This marks the final stages of construction of No. 6880 "Betton Grange" as the locomotive is to enter service in 2020.

LNER K1 No. 62005 will be visiting the Great Central Railway for the first time this winter as the star visiting locomotive for their Winter Steam Gala on the 24th to 26th of January 2020.

Ex GWR Heavy freight 2-8-0 No. 3802 has been sold to new owners who have formed 3802 Ltd and is to remain at the Llangollen Railway for now and will be returned to traffic in the spring next year following some repairs carried out to its tender as the locomotive still has 8 years left on its boiler ticket.

It has been announced by the Great Western Society in the Railway Magazine that No. 4079 along with No. 6023 "King Edward II" will now only operate on preserved railways around the UK only when she returns to steam in 2 years time as the plans to take 4079 on the mainline have now been abandon due to cost and the tight regulations of Network Rail. So 4079 will be put to good use on the UK heritage Railway Circuit for now.

No. 60103 "Flying Scotsman" will visit the Mid-Hants Railway from the 29th of February to the 7th of March 2020. Which this will be the first time that the Worlds Most Famous Steam Locomotive has visited the Mid-Hants line.

Former GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6984 "Owsden Hall" has now left the Swindon & Cricklade Railway and has now relocated to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton Road in Buckinghamshire now.

It has been announced that GWR 66XX Class 0-6-2T No. 6695 will relocate to the Swindon & Cricklade Railway near Swindon in Wiltshire which will be the new home for the locomotive. No. 6695 is in her final stages of her overhaul and will enter service at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway in Spring 2020.

The arrival of ex LMS 4F 0-6-0 No. 44422 to the Churnet Valley Railway is a bit of a home coming for the locomotive as No. 44422 was restored from Dai Woodham Scrapyard condition there in the 1990s and was their flagship locomotive. Now after 10 years away but not currently in working order No. 44422 will undergo full assessment during the early part of 2020 with a view to overhaul the loco back into service again.

Number 16278 refers to the boiler makers number, loco built by Chrzaqnow 2597 in 1958. Loco is No. 5. and moved to TLUSZCZ, plinthed at the PKP station in September 2016.

The ex LMS 4F 0-6-0 No. 44422 has now left the West Somerset Railway and is relocating to the Churnet Valley Railway at Cheddleton in Staffordshire which will be the locomotive’s new home.
