The ex South African Railways Beyer Peacock & Co. built NGG16 Class 2-6-2+2-6-2 Garratt No. 130 was steamed again but moved under its own steam for the very first time since it was withdrawn from service in South Africa in 1985. No. 130 is owned by Peter Best and has been painted in the maroon livery of the Canadian Pacific Railroad like his S160 2-8-0 No. 2253 "OMAHA". No. 130 will enter service at the Welsh Highland Railway very soon.

Following a inspection the ex North Eastern Railway Y7 Class 0-4-0T No. 1310 has been given a extension to its boiler ticket and will now remain in service at the Middleton Railway until January 2022.

The ex London, Brighton & South Coast Railway A1X Class Terrier 0-6-0T No. 2678 "Knowle" will be the star visiting locomotive at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for their 50th anniversary Gala from the 4th to 6th of June 2021. No. 2678 "Knowle" had actually worked on the Isle of Wight from 1929 to 1936 when it was No. W4 "Bembridge" and this will be its first visit to the Island in 85 years then.

With its tests now completed former London & South Western Railway 02 Class 0-4-4T No. W24 "Calbourne" is now back in service again and will play a big part this year in 2021 as its the 50th anniversary of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. With the railway having a 50th anniversary Gala planned on from 4th to the 6th of June 2021.

The ex GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3814 will be leaving the Llangollen Railway as it is being relocated to Northern Steam Engineering Limited at Stockton on Tees in Durham where its restoration will now be carried out there. It is estimate that No. 3814 could be in steam again and running by February 2024 as long as funding can keep pace.

Former Penrhyn Slate Quarry Avonside built 0-4-0T Works No. 2066 "Ogwen" is currently at the Statfold Barn Railway at Tamworth in Staffordshire. Where its been since being repatriated from the United States of America a few years ago.

The former Shelton Iron & Steel Co. Dubs & Co. built 0-4-0CT Works No. 4101 known as "Dubsey" has been withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul. Although it never hauled any passenger trains at the Foxfield Railway it was very popular at Gala weekends there and its hoped that work on its overhaul will start soon.

Former Cameroon Development Corporation Hunslet built 0-4-2PT Works No. 3756 named "Tamar" is currently located at Workshop X at Killamarsh in Derbyshire. Where it is being overhauled and converted to test alternatives types of organic oils that could be used in the oil burning process. Which could help try to limit the effect of steam locomotives on the environment and looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

The former Tongaat Sugar, Natal Bagnall built 0-4-2T Works No. 2820 "Isibutu" has been withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul and is now in the workshops at Statfold Barn where it is being carried out.

Former Rustenberg Platinum Mines Bagnall built 0-4-2T No.3 "Isaac" has left the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway and has relocated to the Statfold Barn Railway at Tamworth in Staffordshire. Its owner has placed the the locomotive up for sale and will remain at the Statfold Barn Railway until it is sold.

The ex GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6989 "Wightwick Hall" is going on a two year loan to the Battlefield Line Railway at Shackerstone in Leicestershire where it will remain until January 2023.

No. 5542 has returned back to the South Devon Railway after spending part of 2020 at the East Somerset Railway. The locomotive will remain at its South Devon Railway home for the 2021 season.

The ex Stewarts & Lloyds Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns built 0-6-0ST No. 56 has also left the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) as it to has been sold to the Epping Ongar Railway in Essex where it has relocated to now to be part of their steam fleet.

The ex LNER K1 Class 2-6-0 No. 62005 has returned home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway after some repairs carried out at West Coast Railway Company’s Depot at Carnforth in Lancashire. The locomotive will remain at the North Yorkshire Moors line till the start of the 2021 Jacobite Season from April.

Its been announced that the National Railway Museum have agreed with the Swanage Railway for its ex London & South Western Railway T9 4-4-0 No. 30120 to remain on long term loan with them into the future as part of their running fleet. This agreement will mean the locomotive will stay under the care of the Swanage Railway which hopefully will be overhauled and returned to service. In addition to storage, the agreement includes provision for limited disassembly, including a boiler lift, for the Railway to assess the potential for the locomotive to be returned to steam when resources and finances allow.

The ex South African Railways Beyer Peacock & Co. built NGG16 Class 2-6-2+2-6-2 Garratt No. 130 was successfully steamed for the very first time following completion of its restoration at Dinas shed and will soon be undergoing further tests before entering service at the Welsh Highland Railway in the early part of 2021.

This locomotive is actually an 0-4-2T Steam Dummy locomotive, not an 0-6-0t locomotive. Please change this. There is a record of this locomotive on Remote and Obscure Railroads of Alaska, on Pinterest.

To the owner of "Gwen" she has a surviving twin sister locomotive in the UK named "Jack" that was also built by Hunslet for the John Knowles & Co. in 1898. "Jack" did operate alongside "Gwen" here in the UK and "Jack" today is at the Statfold Barn Railway at Tamworth in Staffordshire in the UK where she runs on a 18inch gauge railway there along side other preserved narrow gauge steam locomotives from the UK and around the world. It would be wonderful if "Gwen" would come visit the UK one day?

ILFORD reports that the frames are from DRB 52 5909 (The boiler of 52 5909 going to Ty2-1362 in Poland) The loco was seen displayed at Vadim Zadorozhny Museum of Engineering in April 2017 and was stored for repairs or overhaul at Podmoskovnaya Depot in July 2018 but was not seen there in October that year.
