This tram was delivered for working on the Vicinal Section of the Field Railways as a Class 18 of the British ROD (Railway Operating Division) during WWI. After the war, 48 of the 50 built by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorn-Leslie entered SNCV (NOT SNVC - maybe a ‘Boris’ mis-print! - as Class 19, mainly working in the Province of Antwerpen.

This is SNCV Class 18 tram No. 1076 ‘ELISE’, now belonging to AMUTRA, the preservation ‘body’ of it’s former company.

This is a Class 18 ‘general-use’ tram, one of 85 built for the SNCV after WWI to replace ‘lost’ stock that, prior to preservation and after the tram-lines closed, was working for Charbonnages d’Argenteau at Trembleur.

This Class 7 Tram was sold, in 1961, to SA des Charbonnages d’Argenteau, but was taken back in 1965 by SNCV for preservation.

As ‘ILFORD’ pointed out in 2014, this locomotive was built for the Nord-Belge Railway as their No.615; later sold, probably post 1940, to “SA des Charbonages de Monceau Fontaine”, Marcinelle and then became MF 72. Seventeen of these locomotives were built as ‘Well Tanks’ with domeless round-topped boilers, but 9 were rebuilt as side-tanks with domed boilers, 2 of which became SNCB Type 88 in 1940

This loco remains unidentified.when seen by me in 2012 I noted it as metre gauge.

This one was at Viglas Forestry Railway no. 2 latterly plinthed as U17.543. But the photo is at Cierny Balog which makes me think a swap has been done. It has gone to Zamberk for a full overhaul.

This locomotive is of SNCB Class 51. The number quoted will probably be of it’s predecessor, Belgium State Railways (CFB), i.e. NOT SNCB (only created in 1926). It was donated by it’s last owner, “Carbonisation Centrale SA” for preservation and was previously stored at Louvain depot.

By July 2019 the loco had moved from Luzna to to the NTM store at Chomutov.

I saw this loco in 2014 stored in the old depot at Telc. I understand it to be latterly Trebovice Power Station A-03.

This loco was found in Ruzomberok many years ago and earmarked for preservation. Originally MAV 375,526. Builder is of course Budapest.

The former South African Railways GMA/M Class Garratt 4-8-2+2-8-4 No. 4079 was one of the locomotives that was stored at Germiston Depot but has been brought back to the Sandstone Steam Railway at Ficksburg in Free State for safety and display in their new display area along with other ex South African mainline locomotives there.

The former South African Railways 15F Class 4-8-2 No. 3052 "Avril" which was formerly owned by the late railway and wild life artist David Sheperd was one of the locomotives that was stored at Germiston Depot. But has now been transferred to the ownership of the Sandstone Heritage Trust and has relocated to the Sandstone Steam Railway at Ficksburg in Free State for safety and for display there along with other ex South African mainline steam locomotives. No. 3052 was named "Avril" after David Shepherd’s wife.

My notes show this loco as displayed at Bratislava Vychod depot in 2016.
