In April 2012, the refurbishment in Meiningen was successfully completed with a test drive. The locomotive was then transferred first to Nuremberg and then on to Lichtenfels. On April 10, 2014 the locomotive was transferred from Lichtenfels to Forchheim. In 2016 the locomotive was transferred from Lichtenfels to the DB Museum in Nuremberg.

Scrapping cannot be confirmed. Delivery to Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlenwerke AG MIBRAG, Regis-Breitingen brown coal works "F 127-50-B3"; 1993 Mining Technology Museum, Zechau "F 127-50-B3"; 12.2001 to Verein Kohlbahnen e.V., Haselbach "F 127-50-B3" ; Currently listed in the museum inventory but not included in the exhibition directory. There is some guesswork as to whether this could be the halved locomotive at the visitor entrance. Can be seen in Google Maps Street View. 51.03895675809539, 12.299163460342246

Confirmed (partial?) scrapping November 8th, 1988 - November 22nd, 1988 in Raw Cottbus; However, the running gear is said to be in the Basdorf Railway Museum (B. Falz), as reported in 1995

With major work at the Darlington North Road site underway, the ex LNER J72 0-6-0T No. 69023 "Joem" has now left the old Hopetown Carriage Works in Darlington which was the base for the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group for a number of years, into their new home and workshops in the 1861 Shed in Darlington. Its here that the overhaul and rebuild on No 69023 will be completed as the locomotive is nearing the final stages.

Status is unclear. The locomotive is said to have been scrapped around 1990, but as of 1995 it is still reported to be in existence in the B. Falz Steam Locomotive Museum, Basdorf. According to unconfirmed reports, it could be a partial dismantling and the locomotive is there (unregistered).

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5164 is now set to leave Barrow Hill Roundhouse, as the locomotive is to be displayed at the Warley Model Railway Club Show at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham over the weekend of 25th and 26th November 2023. After the show No. 5164 will be relocated to Tyseley Locomotive Works, where it is planned that it will be stored whilst the Erlestoke Manor Fund owners of No. 5164 completes the overhaul and repairs of ex GWR Manor Class 4-6-0 No. 7802 "Bradley Manor" and building a new tender under project T2329. A futher detailed assessments of the condition of No. 5164 will be carried out prier to overhaul.

I have not yet been able to find any confirmation of the Humboldt 661 being scrapped. According to reports, it has been in the Lower Rhine Historical Railway Park Foundation, Moers-Rheinkamp since the early 2000s.
