0-6-0ST "Repulse" (3698) was built by Hunslets of Leeds in 1950 to their successful WD "Austerity" design. She is named in memory of HMS Repulse and she proudly wears the ship's badge above her nameplate. She worked at NCB Whitehaven, Cumbria into the 1970s and in common with several other NCB locomotives was fitted with a Giesl ejector. She is operational at the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where she bore the brunt of the passenger services during the 2007 season.

I was the fireman on this loco from 1958 to 1961. At the time it was mainly shedded and worked at Sandhole colliery, in Lancashire, but with sometime working for Mosley Common colliery, and shedded at Walkden (Lancs) My driver for all of this time was a Thomas (Tommy) Seddon.
