As of 2/9/2026, the locomotive has arrived home to California for the first time in almost 40 years, it has arrived safely at the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad in Fish Camp, CA.

This is MINAZ 1207, Henschel 11677, from R M Villena, as correctly reported in record 19512. The lettering on the tank is still partially legible. The real MINAZ 1161 was at Hector Rodriguez mill, but was scapped many years ago.

The former Glaxo Laboratories, Ulverston, Andrew Barclay built Fireless 0-4-0F Works No. 2268 "Glaxo", which was the very last working industrial steam locomotive in the UK, having worked until 1992 has been sold to new owners who plan to restore it to working order.

The former CEGB, Heysham, Andrew Barclay built Fireless 0-6-0F (Works No. 1572) No. 1 "Lancaster", has been sold to well known transport and locomotive owner Lawrie Rose and has now left West Coast Railway Company’s Depot at Carnforth and has relocated to its new home at the Whitwell & Reepham Railway at Reepham in Norfolk, East Anglia for restoration.

The unique sole surviving single chimney fitted BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92134, has been visiting the Great Central Railway where it had taken part in their Winter Steam Gala during January 2026, and will take part in their Spring Steam Weekend on the 28th of February to the 1st of March 2026.

The ex Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific No. 34072 "257 Squadron", has been visiting the Great Central Railway where it had taken part in their Winter Steam Gala during January 2026, and before returning home to the Swanage Railway the locomotive will take part in their Spring Steam Weekend on the 28th of February to the 1st of March 2026.

The worlds most famous locomotive ex LNER A3 Class Pacific No. 60103 (No. 4472) "Flying Scotsman", will be out touring round the UK on both the mainline and heritage railway circuit again during 2026. During Febuary, "Flying Scotsman" will be heading to visit Tyseley Locomotive Works to work a series of mainline charter trains for Vintage Trains in and round Birmingham. Then "Flying Scotsman" will make a return visit to the Mid Hants Railway (the Watercress Line) from the 10th to 21st of March 2026, where she will be hauling trains there as well as static days for people to look round and visit her footplate along with an exclusive photography evening in the yard at Ropley on the 11th of March 2026. Then from March 28th until the 24th of April 2026 "Flying Scotsman" will be back on display at the National Railway Museum in York for the early spring and Easter. Then from 16th to 31st of May 2026 "Flying Scotsman" will visit the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) for the very first time to work a series of trains there along with being on display for cab visits and will also be on display during their Model Railway Exhibition on the weekend of the 16th and 17th of May 2026. Then "Flying Scotsman" will visit the East Lancashire Railway from the 3rd to 14th of June 2026. Then during the summer "Flying Scotsman" will be at Locomotion, Shildon from the 4th to 31st of August 2026 to do steam rides and be on display.

A big milestone in the construction of new-build (LNER Design) P2 Class 2-8-2 No. 2007 "Prince of Wales", saw its newly built boiler arrive at Darlington Locomotive Works from Dampflokwerk Meiningen works in Germany over Christmas 2025 and is now safely inside the works awaiting fitment to the locomotive. Meanwhile work is underway to place the Monobloc cylinder onto the frames of the locomotive as it is hoped to complete the building of No. 2007 by 2028 or sooner.

The famous new-build (LNER designed) A1 Class Pacific 4-6-2 No. 60163 "Tornado", will be out and about during 2026 as the locomotive will be out working on the mainline again with Tyseley based Vintage Trains for a trip over the famous Settle and Carlisle Railway via Shap on the West Coast mainline from Birmingham New Street and back on the 28th of March 2026. "Tornado" will also be the star visiting locomotive at the East Lancashire Railway for their Legends of Steam Gala from the 10th to 12th of April 2026.

The ex LNER Q6 0-8-0 No. 63395, is currently at Leaky Finders at Hele in Devon, the most furthest south of the UK its been to for work on its firebox roof stays replaced as part of its winter maintenance, and will return to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway when work is completed in the spring.

The ex LNER J27 0-6-0 No. 2392 (65894), is currently at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway for the winter and will hauling trains there until Easter 2026, before returning home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

The ex GWR 4200 Class 2-8-0T No. 4270, could be going to the Kent & East Sussex Railway at Tenterden in Kent, for overhaul as a deal with its owner Jeremy Hoskin will see it be overhauled as a joint venture between the 4253 Locomotive Company Ltd and the Rother Valley Railway Heritage Trust.

The ex Caledonian Railway 812 Class Standard 0-6-0 Goods No. 828, is again staying on at the Spa Valley Railway in Kent for the 2026 running season there until the end of the year, as it has been a very popular locomotive for them during its loan to them since April 2022. Its likely No. 828 will return home at the Strathspey Railway at Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland at the end of the 2026 running season.

Having worked its last trains at the Kent & East Sussex Railway during January 2026, BR Standard 4MT 2-6-0 Mogul No. 76017, has now been withdrawn from service and it is being planned for the locomotive to be relocated to West Coast Railway Company’s Depot at Carnforth in Lancashire, for overhaul.

The Kew Bridge Steam Museum’s 2009-Hunslet built Wren 0-4-0ST Works No. 3906 "Thomas Wickstead", has been trial run on Green Dragon solid biofuel which is made compressed rapemeal as a cleaner alternative to coal which has been successful.

The cosmetic restoration on former NCB Frances Colliery, Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST (Works No. 2259) No. 30, has now been complted and the locomotive has been returned back on display at Lochore Meadows Country Park in Lochgelly in Fife, Scotland.

The ex Avonmouth Smelting Co. Kerr Stuart built 0-4-0T Wren, Works No. 3128 "Roger", is visiting Mountsorrel And Rothley Community Heritage Centre and is to be the first narrow gauge steam locomotive to operate on their Quarry Bottom Railway there for the 2026 season.

The former Thessalian Railways, Decauville built 0-4-0T (Works No. 648) No. 7 "Lilly", has now been withdrawn from service for its 10-year overhaul having steamed for the last time during a private steam up event at the Richmond Light Railway on the 27th of December 2025.
