CFR (KPEV) 4-6-0 No. 230.037 (Danzig 2414)Posted by: Brian Rowney on May 21, 2026 @ 16:05:04
Just after posting the first e-mail, I realised that 230.040 had also been identified as Danzig 2414. My information came from the book Die preußische P8 - die Baureihe 38, written by HansJürgen Wenzel (EK Verlag, 1994, ISBN 3-88255-140-2), specifically in a section dealing with locos in Romania. Otherwise, the only 2414 that is not accounted for seems to be Schwartzkopff 6553 (1917), which was MGD Brüssel 2414 and might possibly have ended up in Romania after World War 1, though I have no information on that. Of course, both reports might be correct as it seems that Königsberg 2407 carried both 230.050 and 230.039 at various times, according to one of your other records.

SZD 2-10-0 No. L-3297 'Kaspar'Posted by: PHILIP MASON on May 19, 2026 @ 06:05:37
This loco is parked at Turi station, looking a little woe-begone, with 2 coaches, at the (north) opposite end of the station to L-5049. Seen from a passing train 14/5/26.

Ruwenhorst & Humbert (Heeresfeldbahn) 0-8-0T No. 4.2(HF 1535)Posted by: PHILIP MASON on May 19, 2026 @ 05:05:00
This loco is not operational despite what it reads on the Scarpe website. I visited on 10/5/26 hoping to score this loco, misled by that claim and that their other loco "Pistache" needs work. In fact "Pistache" worked the train and this Henschel lay just visible in the off-limits shed hidden by machinery, dismantled with only the boiler and chimney on the chassis, tanks, cab and dome etc. all removed. So it looks like a major restoration is hopefully underway.
