This to was also preserved in the United States and is a stable mate with QJ 7081 with the Central States Steam Preservation Association. FS 2-8-0 No. 740.054Posted by: Steve Frost on Oct 30, 2017 @ 16:10:38
Bova is a small settlement, over 900 metres above sea level. It has no railway and is only accessible by steep, narrow winding roads. Yet it has a square dedicated to the railways of Italy. Why in 1987 did they go to the trouble of moving this freight loco to this remote location?

The answer lies in the history of migration from southern Italy. Many people left the town, fleeing poverty and restrictive land holdings. Population fell from around 2000 in 1945 to only 400 today. The loco symbolises the trains that carried the migrants from the area.
