In June in the New Year No. 46100 "Royal Scot" will be visiting the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for three days only from the Monday 25th June to Wednesday 27th June 2018. As part of the Worth Valley s 50th anniversary celebrations in 2018.

Having passed all its test runs successfully newly-restored Bagnall built War Department Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 75178 is now fit to enter traffic at the Bodmin & Wenford Railway. No. 75178 will make its debut at the Winter Steam Up event on the 30th of December.

The NRMs LSWR T9 No. 30120 is back in service after repairs to its cylinder block and is now working the Santa Specials at the Swanage Railway where its now staying.

S160 No. 5197 is currently visiting the Telford Steam Railway for there Polar Express runs over the Christmas season and has what looks like a American headlight fitted to the front of its smokebox for the Christmas event there. It could be the headlight from its time in as a KD6 in China?

Richboro has completed its second full season working at the Aln Valley Railway. It has just passed its annual boiler exam and now has a boiler ticket until Jan 2019 The coupling rod bearings have been refurbished and re-metalled and the crank pins polished. Some work to remedy a sticking regulator will be done before the next operating season starts in March.

No. 41241 s boiler has passed its steam tests at the Severn Valley Railway s boiler shop. It will return to the locomotive at Haworh where No. 41241 will have a big part to play in the 50th Anniversary of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in 2018. As No. 41241 had hauled the first preservation train along the line in June 1968.

The boiler of Yugoslavian built pirate copy USA Dock tank shunter No. 30075 is being sent to Vincent Engineering at Henstridge in Somerset for its overhaul and repairs there. Its hoped that No. 30075 will be back in traffic again in late 2018 or 2019.

LNER A3 Pacific No. 60103 "Flying Scotsman" is to remain under the custodianship of Riley & Son (E) Ltd, following a comprehensive tender process by the National Railway Museum. Riley & Sons now have the contract for operating and maintaining the most famous steam locomotive in the world and details on its operating schedule for 2018 will be announced in the New Year.

No. 21 has now been confirmed as the next steam project at Fife Heritage Railway (KFRPS) Leven. Frames will be moved into the shed around February 2018 to begin work while funds are raised for the boiler which requires new inner firebox, smokebox, tubes and tubeplates.

The former Derbyshire Stone Quarries Peckett built 0-4-0ST No. 1555 modified as Ivor the Engine is still at the Cholsey and Wallingford Railway in Oxfordshire. Where from there website says its still in service?

This is a compressed air engine used in mines to pull mine rail cars. Not Steam.

There are reports that KD6 487 the last KD6 S160 2-8-0 in China is also to take part in the annual steam locomotive festival on 19th - 21st January 2018 at Daqing as well for the first time since 2015. There where reports that its boiler ticket had ran out but it may have had a recent overhaul out there?

The Tiefa Steam Locomotive Museum Diaobingshan or Tiefa is having there annual steam festival being held from 19th - 21st January 2018 using SY 1770 along with SY 1772 for some special steam runs on the Tiefa system.

Loco has been acquired from private owner at Pittston, PA by a new private owner and has been relocated to the Allentown & Auburn RR in Pa. (or will be shortly).

LMS Black 5 No. 45231 is spending the Christmas season and a few months at the Mid Hants Railway till Mid February where it will take part in there Pre-Spring Steam Gala there. In memory of its former owner the late Bert Hitchern 45231 now carries a 56D shed code plate which would have been its late owners home shed under British Railways.

This locomotive was purchased from an unknown source by the Joy family of Spokane, WA in 1936. It operated on their privet Cannon Hill & Pacific RR. In 1956 it passed to Richard Shaefer of Lewiston, ID, then to the Inland Empire Ry Historical Society at Spokane in 1997.

It seems that 44806 is still in service but only for a few weeks over the Christmas season till New Years Day 2018.
