Having spent most of 2020 in the yards at the National Railway Museum in York since April after hauling her final mainline railtour ex LNER A4 Pacific No. 60009 "Union of South Africa" is to be moved and relocated to the East Lancashire Railway on the 13th of October 2020. Where following examination the A4 will work for the remaining year of its boiler certificate there before her retirement from service.

BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80078 has relocated to the Mid Norfolk Railway at Dereham in Norfolk having spent the early part of 2020 at the Spa Valley Railway. No. 80078 will see some use at the Mid Norfolk Railway during October and early November and possibly over the festive Christmas season there as well.

The former Orb Steelworks, Newport Avonside built 0-4-0ST Works No. 1498 "Desmond" has now left the Llangollen Railway and has relocated to the Flour Mill Works at Bream in Gloucestershire where its restoration is being continued following its owners the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway being awarded a grant of £18,000 towards the cost of restoring the locomotive to full working order.

Now under the custodianship of the 5542 Ltd. The former GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4160 has arrived at the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh in Devon where its overhaul will be completed and will be its home for the next 13 years or so.

For many years, Douglas had been stored under a plastic cover alongside No.5 Mona because of asbestos lagging on the boilers. The frames and tanks were moved to Port Erin carriage shed in August 2020. The boiler, after removal of asbestos, remains at Douglas. It is not clear what will happen next.

Having hauled its final trains over the weekend former South Eastern & Chatham Railway P Class 0-6-0T No. 178 has now been withdrawn from service having come to the end of its 10 year boiler ticket. No. 178 will now await its next overhaul being on display at Sheffield Park for now.

Brest is in Belarus, loco built by Sormovo in 1948, last seen at Brest on display in May 2019.

This information is a suspect error, loco was sold to Yugoslavia in 1964, to become 33-316.

The rebuilding and reconstruction of Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35011 "General Steam Navigation" to its original as first built condition with the air smooth casing has reached a milestone as the boiler was lifted from the frames of the locomotive for the first time since 1959. Work can now focus on the restoration of the locomotive’s chassis, and further fundraising campaigns to help with the rebuilding will be launched in the future.

It has been announced by Steamrail that after assessment of major components carried out on the locomotive its been decided that former Victorian Railways K Class 2-8-0 K183 is to be fully overhauled, repaired and restored and put back into steam and run on the mainlines of Victoria, Australia again. Which this will be a big welcome return for the locomotive after its accident in 2002 which sadly killed 3 members of its footplate crew then.

Britomart gauge was 2 foot(610mm), I don’t know if the FR regauge to 597mm gauge?

The former New South Wales Government Railways 30 Class 4-6-0 No. 3001 has been undergoing overhaul at the NSW Rail Museum at Thirlmere for the past few years and has reached a milestone as she was steamed for the first time since 1998. There is still quite a bit of work left to do before the locomotive enters service later in the year.

Gauge is MG (1000mm), loco was rebuilt from a 762mm loco by Mejillones in 1926.

The former Granton Gas Works Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0T No. 9 "Jack" has now been withdrawn from service following its visit to the Amerton Railway today to work its last trains before 10 year overhaul.
