The former London, Brighton & South Coast Railway A1X Class Terrier 0-6-0T No. 672 "Fenchurch" has been moved to Statfold Engineering Ltd. at the Statfold Barn Railway at Tamworth in Staffordshire by the Bluebell Railway for its mechanical overhaul to be continued and carried out there.

The ex Andrew Barclay & Son Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST Works No. 1210 "Caledonia Works" has left the West Somerset Railway and is relocating to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway at Blaenavon in Monmouthshire, South Wales.

This loco should be added to the Swindon list and built in 1923 with it.s sisters. The "rebuild" was a financial dodge and no significant parts of the Davies &b Metcalfe loco were used.

An article in the January 2010 issue of Railroad and Railfan identified this loco as Wanamie Colleries #4, Vulcan 1926 c/n 3585, which had been sold to Pine Creek in 1967 then to Keystone Light Railways in 1976. This aligns with a "mystery" Vulcan collerie engine I saw on the back lot of Great America Amusement Park in Gurnee, Ill in 1978 that had been slated for restoration by Keystone.

The overhaul of Pete Waterman’s ex GWR 45xx Class Small Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5553 is now completed as the locomotive was tested during March and is now back in service and ready to enter traffic at Peak Rail and the heritage railway circuit.

The Bure Valley Railway’s 15inch gauge ZB Class 2-6-2 No. 7 "Spitfire" is currnetly located at North Bay Engineering Services at Darlington in Durham as it has gone up there for its overhaul and a fitment of a brand new boiler there.

The ex GWR 9400 Class 0-6-0PT No. 9466 will be making a return to the mainline in November 2021 as its been booked to be the banking loco on Tyesley’s Vintage Train tour going up the famous Lickey incline with No. 5043 on two trips over it on the 20th of November 2021.

The ex NCB, North Gawber Colliery Hudswell Clarke built 0-6-0T Works No. 1857 has had heavy boiler work carried out which has all paid off as it was steamed for the first time in 45 years. They is still some work to do to finish off but the locomotive is now in the final stages of restoration.

The ex LNER A4 Pacific No. 60009 "Union of South Africa" has passed a trial steaming at the East Lancashire Railway and is set for a full season at the railway which will be its last. Number 9 has only 12 months left on her boiler ticket until April 2022 before she is withdrawn from service and retired for static display. So make the most of the locomotive while you can.

The ex Southern Railway Schools Class 4-4-0 No. 926 "Repton" has been fitted with a Lemaitre chimney and blastpipe over the winter months as a trial by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to see how well the locomotive steams and performs on lower quality coal over a season or two. This chimney and blastpipe modification was carried out on a number of Maunsell Schools Class 4-4-0’s during the 1930’s and 1940’s under the Southern Railway’s then Chief Mechanical Engineer "Oliver Bulleid". If successful the North Yorkshire Moors Railway may use this blastpipe modification on other steam locomotives in its steam fleet in future.

Up until around late 2018, the restoration of D&RGW No. 223 had been making slow but steady progress. Around that time, the city of Ogden, Utah, locked the volunteers involved in the project out of the shops, which prevented them from making further progress. Fast-forward to 2021, and according to a comment made in a thread in the Narrow Gauge Railroad Discussion Forum, John Bush from the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad confirmed that he is currently working on getting No. 223 relocated to the C&TS for restoration and operation, if possible.
