No 271 was used on Gamle Vossebanen heritage line in Bergen in 2023 and 2024. Last mainline performance was in connection with the Dovrebanen anniversary in 2021.

30a 271 was restored to operational condition in 1990 after 7 years and over 10000 hours of work by the voluntering members of the Norwegian Railway Club. (http://www.njk.no) At the moment she is at Hoenefoss engineshed for overhaul of the rod bearing. Builder: Thunes Mekaniske Verksted, Kristiania ( Oslo from about 1920) The complete engine weight with coal and water: 100 tonns. Empty weight 73 tonns. Driver diameter is 1600 mm on drawings, new rims are turned to 1582 mm in 1996. Tractive Effort 11100 kg or a 180 tonn train in 2% uphill at 40 kmh. Boiler pressure 13 kg. Cylinders: 4 in line with Hochwald walves and Walchaerts gear. All four high pressure, no compound. Fuel: Coal - what else? Gauge = 1435 as the rest of Norways net. All tonn are 1000 kg or known as metric tonns. Regards Ragnar Andenæs
