Recent research has cast doubt on the paint scheme that was applied to this replica when it was built, so I've put in a photo taken in September 2009 to show the boiler cladding painted in what is believed to be a more authentic green, instead of the varnished wood finish that had been applied.

The album photo was taken some years ago when the loco had been working on the old access line to Shildon Wagon Works. This stretch of line has now been lifted following the closure of the wagon works.(Today we import wagons from Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania)This is a view we won't see again, although you can walk down the route as a footpath. Incidentally, the people on the album photo are pushing it back to the shed as it had broken down.

This is the working replica of Timothy Hackworth's Sans Pareil which was built at British Rail Engineering's Shildon wagon shops in 1980 and took an important part in the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in that year. The loco has visited many sites but is based at the 'Locomotion'  museum in Shildon where the original Sans Pareil is also on display.
