The ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619, has been moved to Tyseley Locomotive Works at Tyseley in Birmingham, Warwickshire for its overhaul to be carried out there.

Having worked its final trains at the Telford Steam Railway over the Christmas and New Year, the ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619, has now been withdrawn from service for its next overhaul.

The current boiler ticket on ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619, has been extended until Januay 2026, which this is good news for the Telford Steam Railway as No. 5619 will be able to work their Polar Express Trains over the Christmas season ahead then.

The ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619 has returned to steam again at its base at the Telford Steam Railway after passing a hydraulic test and steam test following recent repairs to its boiler backhead washout plugs. Before then it had been out of traffic since August 2022 when it was on hire to the Llangollen Railway. Now back is service again No. 5619 will see out the remaining running season at Telford for 2023, after which the locomotive will be hauling the Telford Steam Railway’s Polar Express Trains over the Christmas season this winter.

The ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619 will be going on loan to the Llangollen Railway for the 2022 running season as extra steam motive power there.

After 14 years ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619 has returned home to the Telford Steam Railway for the festive season to work their Polar Express Train Ride over and into Christmas.

The ex GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619 will be leaving the Swindon & Cricklade Railway having been on loan to them and will relocate to the Epping Ongar Railway at Ongar in Essex where the locomotive will be on loan to them.

GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619 has been added as the 3rd visiting locomotive at the Severn Valley Railway for their Spring Steam Gala which is to have a strong Great Western Branch line theme to it on the weekend of March 15th to 17th 2019. This will be the first time since 1987 that 5619 will have visited the Severn Valley Line.

No. 5619 is remaining at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway till April 2019 to cover a motive power shortage there and will in use on their Santa Specials over the Christmas season there.

The GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T No. 5619 will be running at the Nene Valley Railway for the last time this weekend before it moves to the Swindon & Cricklade Railway for their 40th anniversary Gala on the weekend of September 8th and 9th 2018.

5619 is to be repainted in BR Black livery this winter and will be staying at the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley in Derbyshire for the 2017 season there.
