Ex LMS Jinty 0-6-0T No. 47445 which out lasted the end of BR steam from August 1968 is to steam again for the first time in preservation as the Midland Railway Centre have announced the contract signing for the overhaul for No. 47445. As the main frames of the locomotive are to be overhauled by Ian Riley & Son Ltd engineering workshop in Heywood, Lancashire.

This LMS Jinty 0-6-0T No. 47445 has a special place in railway history as it out lasted the end of BR steam from August 1968. As it was still working having been sold to the National Coal Board working at their British Oak colliery till 1970. The locomotive is in its final stages of its restoration back in to service again which is due to be completed in 2020.
