The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144, will be going on another visit to the Nene Valley Railway for 2025, where it will be their main steam locomotive for the season from April to September and will also be available for their popular Driving Experience Courses as well.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144, is set to visit the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line) as their second visiting locomotive for their Autumn Steam Gala from the 4th to 6th of October 2024.

Following its visit to the Spa Valley Railway, ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144, is returning to the Mid Norfolk Railway to act as extra motive power for them alongside BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80078, for the summer season there, before returning home to Didcot in the Autumn.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144, will be visiting the Battlefield Line Railway, where it will join sister Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199, for their Winter Steam Gala weekend on the 3rd and 4th of February 2024.

The repaint on ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 has now been complete and the locomotive has been turned out in 1940s GWR Green livery with the letters GWR on the side tanks.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 will be going on a hired visit to the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway as their main steam locomotive for the 2023 season there. Currently undergoing a repaint at its base at Didcot Railway Centre No. 4144 will enter service at the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway from the 19th March 2023, hauling their Mothering Sunday trains from then.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 is being repainted into new livery for the remainder of her current boiler ticket this winter.

With its hire to the Kent & East Sussex Railway now over, ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 has now returned home to Didcot Railway Centre and will take part in their big steam up event over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of September 2022. After that the locomotive will have some maintenance carried out ready for the winter.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 is making a return visit to the Kent & East Sussex Railway as extra motive power for their Santa Specials over the Christmas season and for their New Years Trains as well.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 will be visiting the Nene Valley Railway for the summer season hauling trains there from mid June to late August 2021. During its stay there the locomotive will also be used on their driver experience courses and Jolly Fisherman Fish and Chip trains.

Before going on loan to the Kent & East Sussex Railway for part of their season this year GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 will be visiting the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their Spring Steam Gala weekend from the 6th to the 8th of March 2020.

GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 will be going on a loan visit to the Kent & East Sussex Railway from April to September 2020. Which this will be the first time that a GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T has visited the railway in preservation.

The GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 has returned home to Didcot Railway Centre having spent most of the 2019 season at the Severn Valley Railway. No. 4144 will be made available for their steaming days.

4144 is currently still at the Severn Valley Railway helping out with their services. She is on hire to the SVR until November.

No. 4144 has been added as the second visiting locomotive at the Severn Valley Railway for their Spring Steam Gala from March 15th to 17th 2019. This visit is a bit of a home coming as 4144 did work along the Severn Valley Line in BR days.

4144 has had some repair work carried out from last year and those are now completed and has had a steam test last week which it passed with flying colours. The loco in now back in traffic at Didcot for the 2017 season.
