The South Devon Railway has become custodians of the sole surviving GWR 2251 Class 0-6-0 No. 3205 for the next 50 years following collaboration with the 2251 Locomotive Fund who own the locomotive. The agreement means that the 1946 built locomotive will find a permanent home at the South Devon Railway as a living testament to the rich travel history of the Great Western Railway, and plans are now underway to have No. 3205 overhauled.

3205 has had to be withdrawn from service early in its boiler ticket as its in need of a heavy overhaul. It need a new boiler and cylinder block to be fitted as well as a new tender tank as well.
