The ex Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0ST (Works No. 1026) No. 31, has succseefully passed its steam test and the locomotive is now fully operational again. No. 31 will begin testing and running-in trials at Didcot Railway Centre before returning home to Fawley Hill at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, (the home of the late Sir William McAlpine).

The overhaul on the ex Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0ST (Works No. 1026) No. 31, has now been completed and the locomotive is now operational again and will undergo testing and running-in trials at Didcot Railway Centre before it returns home to Fawley Hill at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, (the home of the late Sir William McAlpine).

The ex Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0ST (Works No. 1026) No. 31, is in the final stages of its overhaul at Didcot and being owned by the late Sir William McAlpine it is planned to have it in steam during the visit of "Flying Scotsman" reunited with her famous rival the famous ex GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 4079 "Pendennis Castle", which both locomotives were owned by Sir William McAlpine.

The ex Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0ST (Works No. 1026) No. 31, is currently located at Didcot Railway Centre in Bershire, where it is undergoing its overhaul which is being contracted for Fawley Hill by them.

The ex Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0ST (Works No. 1026) No. 31 has been withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul, and has left its home at Fawley Hill at Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, (the home of the late Sir William McAlpine) and has been moved to Didcot Railway Centre in Bershire for contract overhaul to be carried out there.

The Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0ST No. 31 is visiting Didcot Railway Centre for the first time over the Autumn and Winter months. Which this is the very first time the locomotive visiting another preserved railway away from its home at Fawley Hill.
