The company that used this loco was Alex Cowan not Gowan. The fuel is oil not coal as it was used at the companies paper mill in Penicuik hence the name. At present it has only partly been cosmetically restored.

There is currently a display/small exhibition about Penecuik at Barter's bookshop which is where the old waiting room etc is at Alnwick station. It details when the loco was brought to the station and has photographs.
