The overhaul of ex Falmouth Docks and Engineering Co. Hawthorn Leslie built 0-4-0ST Works No. 3597 "Falmouth Docks No.3", has reached the final stages as the boiler has been placed back onto the frames of the locomotive, following its successful hydraulic and steam test and is now passed out for use again. Work has been focus on fitting the copper pipework and boiler fittings whilst the wait for the pistons and connecting rods to return from machining. Painting is also underway as weather conditions allow with temperatures. It is hoped that "Falmouth Docks No.3" will be in steam at the Midland Railway - Butterley for the 2025 season then.

The former Falmouth Docks and Engineering Co. Hawthorn Leslie built 0-4-0ST Works No. 3597 "Falmouth Docks No.3" has now left Tyseley Locomotive Works and has relocated to the Midland Railway - Butterley in Derbyshire now which will be its new home as it will now be part of their running fleet.

Former Falmouth Docks and Engineering Co. Hawthorn Leslie built 0-4-0ST No. 3 is the 3rd locomotive that is owned by Grinsty Rail Ltd and is also at Tyseley Locomotive Works in Birmingham. Where its in the final stages of its overhaul there.

The former Falmouth Docks and Engineering Co. Hawthorn Leslie built 0-4-0ST No. 3 is also at Tyseley Locomotive Works in Birmingham for completion of its overhaul. From April it will also be made available for spot hire to other preserved railways around the UK.

The sale of the loco has been completed, and it has moved to the Statfold Barn railway to be overhauled. its future home is not known.

Currently for sale. Contact Kivells Heritage Department o 01566 771900. Really this is the bits of two locos - the frames of No 1 and the upper parts of No 3, although its using the works number of No 1. How many other 'bitzas' are there?
