The ex CEGB Newport Peckett built 0-4-0ST Works No. 2147 "Uskmouth No. 1", has gone on its first visit to another preserved railway, as the locomotive is visiting the Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust at Midsomer Norton in Somerset to work their Santa Specials over the Christmas season there.

The ex CEGB Newport Peckett built 0-4-0ST Works No. 2147 "Uskmouth No1", made a successful light engine test run at the Dean Forest Railway, which this was the first time in many years the locomotive had ran under its own steam, and is now set to make its debut in traffic during the Royal Forest of Steam Gala weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2024.

The overhaul of ex CEGB Newport Peckett built 0-4-0ST Works No. 2147 "Uskmouth No1", has been completed and the locomotive is about to undergo testing and running-in trials before entering service at the Dean Forest Railway in time for their Royal Forest of Steam Gala weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2024.

A cording to the Dean Forest Railway’s website former CEGB Newport Peckett built 0-4-0ST No. 2147 "Uskmouth No1" is being overhauled by the Dean Forest Railway Society members.
