The ex Boots Pure Drug Co. Andrew Barclay built fireless 0-4-0F Works No. 1984 "Boots No. 1", is set to make its public debut during the West Somerset Railway’s Spring Steam Spectacular event from the 2nd to 5th of May 2025, as part of the Railway 200 celebrations in 2025.

The restoration on former Boots Pure Drug Co. Andrew Barclay built fireless 0-4-0F Works No. 1984 "Boots No. 1", has now been complete at Williton works on the West Somerset Railway, and the locomotive is now ready for testing. "Boots No. 1" will be the second operational Fireless steam locomotive in preservation after its sister the former Shell Petroelum, Ardrossan, Andrew Barclay built fireless 0-4-0F Works (No. 1952) No. 8, at the Doon Valley Railway at Dalmellington, Ayrshire in Scotland.

Due to my spelling it should have said that the Andrew Barclay built Fireless loco "Boots No. 1" has moved to the Williton workshops at the West Somerset Railway for restoration to running order for possible use at Washford there.

The former Boots Pure Drug Co. Andrew Barclay built fireless 0-4-0F No. 1 has been moved to Wilton Works at the West Somerset Railway for restoration to full working order.
