The overhaul on ex LMS Princess Royal Class Pacific 4-6-2 No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth", is now fully underway in the workshops of West Coast Railway Company, at Carnforth as work has seen the fabrication of a new smokebox ring along with work on the firebox. The Princess Elizabeth Society, owners of No. 6201, are currently in the process of digitising the original engineering drawings to help make it easier with the work in hand. To help raise funds for the overhaul the society has issued a photograhic book of high-quality historic images of LMS Black Fives and Jubilee 4-6-0 locomotives in service during the days of steam on the West Coast Mainline taken by society member David Anderson. An assessment for the overhaul on ex LMS Princess Royal Class Pacific 4-6-2 No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth", has begun at Carnforth. The locomotive is in the workshops of West Coast Railway Company, at Carnforth being stripped down for a full assessment, with costings for the forthcoming thorough overhaul where everything will be looked at to ensure that No. 6201 is fit for use in the long term. The Princess Elizabeth Society, owners of No. 6201, will really need help with raising the required funds while the assessment continues, which details to donate can be found on their website and socile media pages.

The ex LMS Princess Royal Class Pacific 4-6-2 No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" is now under overhaul in the workshops at West Coast Railway Company’s depot at Carnforth, as work is now underway to return No. 6201 to the mainline again. The owners of No. 6201, the Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society Ltd. have so far raised £100,000 towards the overhaul and are still open for donations to help fund the overhaul which details can be found on their website and social media.

The ex LMS Princess Royal Class Pacific 4-6-2 No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" has been withdrawn from service for the foreseeable future following a leak in the locomotive’s boiler throatplate and the end of its 10 year boiler ticket. No. 6201 is now awaiting overhaul at West Coast Railway Company’s depot at Carnforth, but maybe sometime as other locomotives are being worked on in the workshops there. So the locomotive will have to wait until engineers are avalible before its overhaul can start which its owners the Princess Elizabeth Society are in the process of planning.

No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" is back in service as the locomotive is returning to mainline passenger service tomorrow by hauling the Dalesman Railtour from Hellifield to Carlisle and return.

No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" made a very successful loaded mainline test run on the 28th of March 2019 which the locomotive passed with flying colours and is now back in service again since 2016. No. 6201 with have some small jobs to be done and a repaint before she enters service on the mainline steam circuit in the summer.

No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" is set to make a comeback on the mainline this year as it is one of three locomotives that have been booked to work this years Torbay Express runs this summer from Bristol to Kingswear and trips round Bath Spa, Trowbridge, Westbury and Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads, Yatton and Weston-Super-Mare.

Some good news on No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" as the locomotive has had its motion re-fitted and more of its components repaired and reinstated accordingly. The boiler has had some further repairs carried out and has been steamed at its full working pressure of 250psi and has moved under its own steam for the first time in nearly 2 years. But there is still some work to be done at Carnforth but it will not be long till 6201 will be back in service soon.

With to many ongoing jobs on other locomotives at the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trusts (PRCLT) West Shed at the Midland Railway Centre. No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" has relocated to West Coast Railway Company s Carnforth Depot in Lancashire. A decision made by the 6201 Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society to have the boiler overhaul carried out there instead. But they still funding for the work to be carried out which details are on 6201s website.

The location for 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" needs to be changed as the locomotive is now located and based at the The West Shed at the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley in Derbyshire. Where its currently having a boiler overhaul.

6201 "Princess Elizabeth" has had to be withdrawn from service for a boiler overhaul and a series of repairs to be carried out before it can run on Network Rail mainlines again. Also its location needs to be changed as the locomotive new home is the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust West shed at the Midland Railway Centre in Derbyshire now.

No. 6201 Princess Elizabeth has been moved to the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley in Deryshire for winter repairs in the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust workshops there which is to be base for 6201 now.

6201 is currently at Tyseley Locomotive Works under going a overhaul since 2012. The overhaul is now on the home strate and 6201 should be back in steam and on the mainline in early 2015.
