The Festiniog Railway’s George England & Co. built 0-4-0ST+T No. 4 "Palmerston", will be visiting the Talyllyn Railway for their Awdry Extravaganza on the 18th to 20th July 2025, celebrating the life of Rev. W. Awdry himself and marking the 80th anniversary of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends making their debut in the Railway Series books by the Rev. W. Awdry from the first volume "The Three Railway Engines" back in 1945. For the event "Palmerston" will operate on a short section of 2ft gauge track and decked out as the famous Thomas the Tank Engine character ‘Duke the Lost Engine’.

The Festiniog Railway’s George England & Co. built 0-4-0ST+T No. 4 "Palmerston", has now returned home to the Festiniog Railway at Porthmadog, Gwynedd in North Wales.

Before returning home to the Festiniog Railway, the Festiniog Railway’s George England & Co. built 0-4-0ST+T No. 4 "Palmerston", will visit the Bala Lake Railway for their August Steam Gala from the 24th to 26th of August 2024.

The overhaul on the Festiniog Railway’s George England & Co. built 0-4-0ST+T No. 4 "Palmerston", one of the world’s oldest operation steam locomotives has now been completed and is now operational again. "Palmerston" is currently bring tested and undergoing running in trials before its set to take part in the Vale of Rheidol Railway’s Summer Steam Festival on the 24th to 26th of August 2024.

The Festiniog Railway’s George England & Co. built 0-4-0ST+T No. 4 "Palmerston", is being sent to the Vale of Rheidol Railway at Aberystwyth, Ceredigion in Wales for overhaul, following a partnership deal between both the Festiniog Railway and the Vale of Rheidol Railway. This is not the first time "Palmerston" has been at the Vale of Rheidol Railway as she was loaned to them for short stints back in 1912 to 1914, and again in 1920 to 1922, and returned again in 2014. It is planned for the locomotive to go on display for a short while in the new museum in the former Great Western Railway locomotive shed at Aberystwyth before entering their workshops for overhaul in July with the aim of having "Palmerston" ready for their Summer Steam Festival on the 24th to 26th of August 2024.

The Festiniog Railways George England built 0-4-0ST "Palmerston" is to visit the Bala Lake Railway for the very first time for there Visiting Locomotives event only on the 19th to 21st and 23rd, 24th June 2018.

The Festiniog Railways "Palmerston" will be making a visit to London this month and will be on display at Kings Cross Station from the 18th till the 26th.
