The railroad was bought at the last minute and is currently having the outdated tracks replaced. Scheduled to reopen later this year!

Both engines and equipment are being kept in their shed in kaanapali, so please change city to kaanapali and status to stored.

The LK&P shut down effective 8/1/14. Fate of the locomotives and rolling stock is unknown.

Both of these engines were 0-4-0 T's built to 38" gauge. Arthur LaSalle ( American R.R. Equipment) rebuilt the engines into 2-4-2 types and converted them to 36" gauge for the L.K.&P. They were test run on the East Broad Top before being shipped to HI. I understand that the LK&P had problems keeping the rear engine truck on the track so they were removed at some point making them into 2-4-0 types.
