As it turns out, 242 is currently under an overhaul to be converted to oil.

Status should be changed to operational, and number to 242. Submitted a new photo and a video of her from april 18th.

we have ran into some problems with #242, delaying passenger service

Locomotive #242 should be back in passenger servce by fathers day weekend 2004.

This engine is now operational. They made a few test runs with it in the fall of 2003.

The Sandley built  24'' 2-4-2 that once ran at the Brookfield Zoo, as Salt Creek R.R.# 242., 16year ago is on it's way to a new home at the Laport Co. Historical Steam Scoiety. in Hesston Ind.as of Dec.2002.
