The Emma Nevada is NOT operational, though the boiler should be in fairly good condition from be inside for the last 46 years.  Ward was forced to retire her in 1956 because of some leaking tubes and flues.  One other reason for her retirement rather than repair was her coal firing and the smoke that so annoyed the Kimball neighbors.  She and Chloe NEVER ran at Disneyland.  Walt did however at on point try aquire the engines from Ward but was turned down.  The incident was known as the Great Locomotive Chase.

This engine is named Emma Nevada and was restored and operated by Ward Kimble on his backyard Grizzly Flats Railroad, which was only about 500 feet in length.  It preserved in its Grizzly Flats appearance and lettering.
