This was part of a batch built post First World War for what had become Austria following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. With other members of the Class 270, it was taken over by the DRB and renumbered 56.3408. In the post Second World War world, Austria was occupied by the Soviet Union, and they passed a handful of these locos to Albania
