Build date 18 June 1948. Builders number 1931, Hitachi Originally built using boiler from 2-8-2 D52458, reboilered in 1956. Retired from JNR 19 March 1976, displayed at Otaru Transportation Museum from 1977 to 1986. Returned to steam in time to celebrate privatization of JNR on 31 Mar 1987, fully overhauled immediately thereafter and returned to active roster 3 Mar 1988. Retired again 3 November 1995, has been on static display ever since.

I believe this to be a simple system error or some kind. Naebo works is in Hokkaido. C623 was built in 1948 (rather than 1942, posted here). If we were to trace it further, we find that it is Mitsubishi-built(build No. 492) Class D52 2-8-2 No. D52458, built 1945. The locomotive was restored in 1987 to commemorate the denationalization of JNR, and ran until 1995.
