Yet another JNR numbers mix-up, D52-235 is believed to be D52-138. The preserved locomotive does not have the all-weather cab that D52-235 was retrofitted with in 1961, and multiple parts have been found with their stamped numbers for D52-138 stamped over with D52-235.
