MacMillan-Bloedel acquired this engine in 1953 and renumbered it #1007. After falling through a bridge over the Franklin River, an accident which killed the engineer and head brakeman, #1007 was rebuilt and numbered #1055 in 1954. It continued mainline service until 1969 and was put into mill switching service until 1973. The BC Government acquired #1055 in 1975 and donated it to The City of Port Alberni in 1991. The engine was restored to its Alberni Pacific #7 appearance and has been operational ever since.

This engine has the distinction of being the last steam locomotive in BC to haul logs.
