Locomotive number is Mater 2-10 [ ??2?-10? in Korean] It was working a US Army supply train on December 31 1950 when it was caught up in a Chinese attack and it was immobilized by American troops at Jangdan station to prevent use by the enemy (accounts differ as to how). After the war Jangdan was in the demilitarized zone and the remains of the locomotive remained there until 2004. They were taken away on September 22 2004 and put on display at the current location June 25 2009. (The engineer in 1950 remained in engine service until 1985 and lived to see the remains being put on display)
