has had some cosmetic work done, but no longer under restoration. it just sits outside the roundhouse.

Status should be "Stored". No restoration work is currently being done. When the four operating locomotives at Roaring Camp don't require as much attention, the Climax will be the next in line for a rebuild.

This locomotives restoration was due in 2003 (or so it said at shaylocomotives.com) but the railroad was badly hit that year and work has stalled on engine #1's wheels.  The railroad is working hard to keep locomotives #2, #3, and #7 in operation and in good condition.  Once engine #1 recieves her new wheels the railroad might start raising funds for locomotive #5's restoraiton, and once climax #5 is operational the railroad will get to work on this locomotive.  It is unpredictable when these will return to service.
