I was down there just a couple of weeks ago, and for the weekend they had pulled #7 out of the shop, and were giving cab tours and such. A bit of extior rust on the boiler jacket, but cometically she looks pretty good.

No, the restoration of this locomotive isn't moving along too quickly, but then again, neither do many of the other restorations there. However, there is hope. They recently removed all of the asbestos ($$$$$$) from the Shay, which is proof of, as the youtube movie describes the shay, "slow...but sure" progress. Also , Camp 6 is in the middle of another (slow) restoration of a Rayonier Gibson speeder, which, when completed, will be run on the weekdays. They already had a Gibson speeder trailer, & they got the Gibson speeder as payment for another speeder which they sold off for parts to a private owner. By the way, Camp 6 will take almost anyone as volunteers. They have young kids (the engineer's sons) operating the switch, they're willing to let teenagers rebuild boxcar doors, etc.

This locomotive has not been in service since at least 1997.  It is in need of an overhaul and new boiler tubes, but fundraising efforts have thus far been unsuccessful.  It is in storage in Camp 6's enginehouse, where, for insurance reasons, visitors are not allowed inside to see it.

Engine is still in the same location but it hasn't moved in a *very* long time.
