This locomotive was the first Black River & Western steam locomotive. It was used on test runs at Black River's original location on the CNJ Chester Branch. When the BR&W moved to Ringoes, 565 was replaced by their current steamer 60 and was put on display near Ringoes station. The 565 was also owned by two members of the Morris County Central Railroad and was at one time considered for operation on the line. It was displayed at Whippany and later moved to the New Hope & Ivyland for the restoration. It was never completed and it was later sold to Steamtown.
