Delivered to the then DRB at the height of WW2 as No. 52 3209 and joined the emerging iDR iduring 1949 along with working for the PKP 1953-1955, in the same identity. During the summer of 1965 it was recalled to Raw Stendal for re-construction with a new boiler from Raw Halberstadt and emerged as No. 52 8139, becoming in 1970, No. 52 8139-9, and running until being withdrawn in April 1987 from DR (It therefore never ran for DB). It joined the VSM Dieren, NL at the end of 1991, with whom it remains.

In August 2000, 8139 was in the newly built workshops at Beekberger on VSM
