The original example, No. 2 ‘De Arend’ (The Eagle) was built during 1839 and scrapped in1857, hence this replica.

This loco was originally built for Hollandsche Ijzeren Spoorweg, by R.B.Longridge & Co, Bedlington Ironworks, Northumberland, England, construction details 119/1839, this is a replica built by Zwolle 30/1938. Loco named "De Arend".
