The locomotive is one of four Series E built for the Emmentalbahn Railway (E-B) and this, last one became their No. 8. It effectively became redundant upon electrification of the line in 1932, thereafter working from Huttwill. It is now believed to be stored in Burgdorf.

No. 8 is in workiung order. It is stabled at Burgdorf, Switzerland (Dampfbahn Bern).

Correct name of railway: Emmentalbahn (2 "m", ..tal without "h")
