Apologies, my spelling of it’s current presumed should, of course, be Balsthal!

The locomotive is one of sixteen delivered to the Swiss Central Railway (S - C - B) for freight duties, as their No. 196. Upon formation of the SBB it became No. 7696 and worked until 1938 when it was withdrawn, and then stored for preservation. It is still operational and believed to now be based at Balstal, on loan from the NTM.
