Dale W Fickés gives the history of the loco as follows: The locomotive was numbered 69.01 successively by kkStB, DÖStB, ÖStB and BBÖ from 1890 to 1938; then as 97.201 by DRB, ÖStB and ÖBB from 1938 to the present date. From 2008 it has been loaned from the Technisches Museum, to the Erzbergbahn in Vordernberg.

This very incomplete locomotive is now part of the collection of a local railway club at Vordernberg (its earlier home depot at one end of the famous "Erzbergbahn").
