There is a common misconception regarding the Queen and her sisters that says that they were initially built to meter-gauge and destined for Iran, And instead being sent for Alaska and being converted to 3 ft. Gauge. THIS IS NOT TRUE. 190 and her sisters were always destined for Alaska. This is further disproved by the fact that Iran has no narrow gauge rails, only Standard Gauge.

Was Brought here from Alaska with Sister 192(Now at Dollywood) in 1959.  Went into Operation in 1960 after being Converted from an Oil Burner to a Coal Burner.  Normally runs During July, August, and as the Ghost Train in October.

Not a Mountain Locomotive, But Manages to Pull the Train on a 5% Grade Just Fine.
