D&RGW #464 sadly failed with severe leaks in the boiler at the Huckleberry Railroad Railfan weekend. She has therefore been taken out of service for her FRA inspection.

change the status to operational,#464 is running.

Status should be changed to "operational". The restoration of No. 464 was completed late last summer, and she is expected to be in service as the mainstay engine for the 2006 season.

Almost, not quite... just returned from a visit, and discovered that 464 is nearly done. They should have it running by Railfan's Weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

From what I understand, 464 is going to come out in early July, and #2 will go in for restoration. I remember riding behind 464 as a kid. It is too bad the parks comission closed the old loop.

It has been confirmed that the 464 WILL run again in 2005.

Engine 464 has been undergoing an overhaul since 1998. The primary components of the overhaul include: A boiler rebuild, A new tender to replace the old, tired, leaking one, and sword hanger repairs. The engine should be running by this winter.
