The ex Northern Gas Board Peckett built W7 Class 0-4-0ST Works No. 2142 "Northern Gas Board No. 1", has left the Cholsey and Wallingford Railway and is returning home to her owners the Darlington Railway Preservation Society, at their new base in the new Whessoe Road Engine Shed, at Darlington in Durham, for some repairs.

Steam Loco is out of service and stored at Wallingford. An issue was discovered whilst on testing on arrival at Wallingford and needs work on the boiler. Loco is currently sat in the siding covered up, Waiting for Darlington to have space, time and funds to complete the work.

The overhaul on former Northern Gas Board Peckett built W7 Class 0-4-0ST Works No. 2142 "Northern Gas Board No. 1" has now been completed and is operational again. The locomotive has relocated on hire to the Cholsey and Wallingford Railway at Cholsey in Berkshire, where it has entered service.

The Peckett built 0-4-0ST "Northern Gas Board No. 1" has also been withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul and has been moved back to the Darlington Railway Preservation Society base at Darlington North Road were its taking place at.

Currently under overhaul at North Road Darlington in the old S & D R Goods Shed. The locomotive is owned by the Darlington Railway Preservation Society. The latest news is to be found on the DRPS Website www.drps.org.uk

NGAS BOARD No.1 Peckett 0-4-0ST. Saw her ex works North Road 6 November 2010 very much ex-works. Please - where is she now ? Does she steam ?
