the miniature 2-8-8-4 steam locomotive, formerly of the Whiskey River Railway was sold to a private owner in France in 2007, and as of a 2020 social media post, it was reported to be operational on a private railroad

This locomotive is a 2-8-8-4 NOT a 2-8-8-2.  As of March 3, 2007 it is for sale on www.discoverlivesteam.com for $100,000.  It looks as if it is a Rio Grande prototype from some of the pictures on Discover Live Steam.
